6 days - Summer tour of Iceland with private tours

Explore your way with a private tour of Iceland. This summer escape to the land of ice and fire in the middle of the North Atlantic includes private day tours with a guide. We will take you out to see the most famous sights around the Golden Circle and Reykjavik. Then head out to the heart of South Iceland, staying at Skálakot Manor House, under the wide expanses of the Icelandic highlands and in the vicinity of glaciers and volcanoes, overlooking the North Atlantic Ocean.

As a finale you will have a day and night at the Blue Lagoon for a soak in the warm healing waters.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Private transfer into Reykjavík and guided city walk

On arrival at Keflavik International Airport, you will be welcomed by Meet & Greet service holding your name sign and accompany you to the airport exit. Then continue with private transfer to your accommodation in Reykjavík. After settling in, start exploring this lovely capital with your private guide. Be sure to check out the design stores and cool cafes in central Reykjavik, afterwards.

In the evening you can enjoy a gourmet dinner at one of Reykjavik's many fine restaurants - taste the fresh Atlantic seafood or free-range lamb that Iceland is famous for.

Day 2 - Private Golden Circle Tour

After breakfast you will be picked up from your hotel in Reykjavik for an exciting day discovering the Golden Circle. Visit Þingvellir National Park, Geysir geothermal area and Gullfoss the queen of all Icelandic waterfalls. Walk the beautiful Þingvellir National Park and UNESCO Heritage site. The scenery is amazing no matter the weather! Get a close look at how the tectonic plates drifted apart and where the first settlers of Iceland founded the world´s oldest parliament Althingi (Alþingi) in the year 930.

Then continue to the geysers area with the famous Geysir which all other geysers are named after. Here you will see the lively geyser Strokkur erupt roughly every 5-10 minutes and reach a height up to 25 meters along with observing the other geothermal features of the area. From there head up to Gullfoss waterfall, which many Icelander´s call the Queen of Waterfalls! The Golden Circle is without a doubt one of Iceland’s most famous highlights.

Lunch at a local restaurant is included. At around 17:00 hrs you will be dropped back at your hotel in Reykjavik.

Day 3 - Visit South Iceland, Vík, the Reynisfjara black beach and Katla Ice Cave

This full day private tour is a journey down to the southern coast of Iceland through the country’s farmlands, majestic mountains, glaciers and volcanoes, with the interior on one side and vast Atlantic Ocean views on the other. Once you have departed the city centre with your private guide, the landscape quickly changes and soon you arrive at the Seljalandsfoss waterfall. With your guide, walk around and behind the falls along the paths. The staircase and paths around Skógafoss waterfall allow you to climb alongside the cascading falls (i.e., bring a jacket).

This area has many awe-inspiring features, including the beautiful Skógafoss watefall and the stunning Reynisfjara with its unique black sand beach. Visit the top sights of the south and experience the amazing diversity of Iceland, as well as discovering and exploring various local secrets with an experienced guide. One of the highlights of the tour will be visiting the Katla Ice cave.

Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant during the day. In the early evening, you will be dropped off at your hotel in the South Coast.

Day 4 - Private Þórsmörk Super Jeep Adventure

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel for a private Þórsmörk Super Jeep Adventure. Þórsmörk is an incredibly beautiful nature reserve, situated in the heart of South Iceland nestled among the glaciers Eyjafjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull and Tindfjallajökull. Enjoy the many spectacular hiking options and adventurous rides over various un-bridged glacial rivers. This is the perfect tour to explore the wonders of Þórsmörk while experiencing an adventurous 4x4 Super Jeep drive. On the hike you will take in the astonishing view over Þórsmörk, Mýrdalsjökull glacier and the highlands. You will also hike up to Gígjökull glacier where you observe the effects of the 2010 Eyjafjallajökull eruption and breath in the purifying glacial air.

The tour is catered to each person’s ability and the guide will inform you about the hiking stops. If you don’t feel like hiking you don’t have to. Lunch is included during the tour.

Day 5 - Private Þjórsárdalur and Game of Thrones tour before the Blue Lagoon

This morning you will be picked up from your hotel for a visit to Þjórsárdalur, Stöng and the 'Game of Thrones' area. Gjáin is a hidden gem in the Þjórsárdalur valley in South-Iceland. It is a beautiful fairyland with waterfalls, volcanic structures and lush vegetation. Angelica grows here in abundance. The Rauðá river (Red River) runs through the valley with two lovely waterfalls. Gjárfoss falls, the larger cascades into Gjáin gorge beautifully framed by the surroundings. Gjáin has had an increase in visitors since the Game of Thrones scene was filmed here.

The hike to Gjáin starts from the settlement manor Stöng and takes you to the northern part of Gjáin and the beautiful Gjárfoss waterfall. The hike is 2.1 km each way. It is an easy hike, and takes approximately 15 minute’s each way.Lunch is included this day.

In the evening you will be dropped off at Hotel Silica to enjoy the Blue Lagoon premium package.
