If you don’t fancy the sub-zero temperatures associated with Northern Scandinavia in winter, consider an autumn tour. Enjoy the best of Finnish Lapland, staying in the lakeside retreat, located 230kms north of the Arctic Circle. This local resort offers a great range of early activities as well as comfortable Scandinavian style accommodation.
Enjoy peaceful afternoons at the lake, discovering the nature and wilds of Finland. You can pick as many berries and mushrooms as you can carry, the lake is full with tasty fish and the Jeris River is just a stone throw away.

Local transfers
Northern Lights are only visible between mid September - April. Ask us about an upgrade to the Arctic Firefox Lodge with private sauna and sleeping area with unobstructed sky views. Or an upgrade to a log cabin.
From Kittilä airport it is only a 45 minute transfer to your hotel where you will be welcomed and receive information on the days to come. After settling in to your accommodation, you can enjoy your dinner in the restaurant. All food is prepared from local and organic ingredients.
This evening we will experience the Arctic Sauna World for a Finnish sauna experience with lake swimming for those who wish. This is your chance to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights so keep an eye out over the lake and after dinner!
After breakfast we transfer to the local reindeer farm where we will learn about the reindeer, visit the old barn and museum, meet and feed the reindeer and try our hand at lasso throwing.
Lunch will be a special picnic lunch to take with you or buffet lunch at the resort.
In the afternoon, explore the pure fell landscapes of Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park on a relaxed guided hike through pristine Lapland scenery. Follow peaceful trails across open fells and breathe in some of the cleanest air in the world, with time to enjoy the views and connect with nature.
Dinner in the restaurant and overnight in cozy hotel room.
Discover Lapland from the water on this peaceful canoeing experience across calm, crystal‑clear lakes. Guided at a relaxed pace, you’ll learn about local nature, culture, and life while soaking up the serenity of the pristine surroundings. There’s time to drift quietly on the lake, breathe in the pure Arctic air, and capture the stunning scenery.
Later visit a husky farm and meet the friendly sled dogs enjoying their summer break. On this guided behind‑the‑scenes visit, learn how the huskies are cared for year‑round, hear stories from their handlers, and spend time with the dogs themselves.
After breakfast transfer to Kittilä airport.
