Wonderful heathers cover the landscape.

The Shetland Islands can be split into two scenery wise with the Northern part wild and woolly, rocky and barren. Wonderful heathers cover the landscape. The southern part is green and lush, with sea cliffs and wonderful wildflowers. The Shetland Islands are famous for its 'Up Helly Aa' in January where locals build a big long ship locals, dress up as Vikings and parade. As the finale, they set fire to the ship and dance in merriment with the local brew downed in buckets.
