Lom

Lom is a picturesque mountain village in central Norway, serving as a gateway to the national parks Jotunheimen, Breheimen, and Reinheimen. Surrounded by dramatic landscapes, including Norway’s highest peaks, Galdhøpiggen and Glittertind, Lom is a prime destination for hiking and mountain adventures.

With a population of about 2,350, the village lies at the foot of Lomseggen and acts as a natural link between eastern and western Norway—just two hours from both alpine peaks and the Sognefjord. The village center, Fossbergom, is built along the wild Bøvra River and has been settled since the 1600s.

Lom blends rich history with a lively summer atmosphere, featuring a medieval stave church from 1150, traditional wooden bridges, cosy cafés, and a renowned bakery. Visitors can explore cultural landmarks and follow scenic walking routes like the Bergomsrunda, which winds through the heart of the village.

Lom offers an ideal mix of nature, culture, and tradition in the heart of Norway’s high mountains.
