Hiking trip from Flåm

The trip starts with a RIB boat trip into the heart of the Nærøy fjord with the grand Sagfossen waterfall. In the Aurland fjord, dock in Skjerdal, where the hike up to the Leim goat farm starts. From the wharf the path takes you up to the old road which you follow to the Skjerdal farm, with beautiful views of the fjord along the way.

From there on, follow the farm road up to the Leim mountain farm. Along the way you can enjoy views of several spectacular waterfalls. At Leim there will be a tour of the farm and an introduction to the making of the traditional goats cheese. Lunch will be served outside on the terrace with cheese tasting and a main course based on local and home grown products. You’ll have plenty of time to enjoy the view and get to know the goats before we head back to Flåm by minibus. The trip can be done in all kinds of weather. You do not need hiking experience to join the trip but a reasonable physical fitness level is required for the hike up the hill.

The trip is suited for those wanting an active trip. The total altitude gain is 360 m. You’ll need sturdy walking shoes and clothes suited for the outdoors, rain attire if needed. If it’s a warm day you will need a water bottle.
