Stockholm - Foodie's Paradise

New-Nordic cuisine, Swedish classics, street food and Gastronomic stars - Stockholm offers thousands of innovative restaurants. Stockholm's most noted restaurants of recent years have one concept in common: Scandinavian culinary tradition in an innovative version, carefully selected raw ingredient, and focus on locally produced, organic foods.

Start your Stockholm Food Journey with these gems:

Gastrologik - Michelin star restaurant, where there are no set menus; what’s in season decides what’s served.

Woodstockholm - taste the Södermalm district's creative atmosphere and enjoy this restaurant's dynamic, local and sustainably produced menu.

Meatballs for the People - try the Swedish classic dish in style.

Sunset Drinks with Panoramic Views

Gondolen - It may look a bit industrial from the outside but once the elevator delivers you 38 meters above the water you’ll be treated to astounding panoramic views of the city, which some say are the best in Sweden. The cocktail list is extensive and you should not miss out the food either.maryna-nikolaieva-dYo54PK1ofA-unsplash (2)

On a Sunny Day - Wander around Djurgarden Island

The green island Djurgården, close to central Stockholm, is beloved by both Stockholmers and tourists. Djurgården is a calm oasis which has been royal land since the fifteenth century. It’s easy to reach Djurgården by foot, by ferry boat from Gamla Stan/Slussen, by tram from Norrmalmstorg or by bus.

Djurgården is also home to several of city’s top museums and attractions, as well as enjoyable cafés and restaurants.

Visit at least one of these places:

ABBA THE MUSEUM - an interactive journey through one of the greatest success stories in music history. Ask one of our Scandinavian Destination Specialists about combining an Abba Museum visit to your Stockholm guided tour.

GRÖNA LUND - fill your day with joy and laughter in this legendary amusement park.

SKANSEN Stockholm’s own zoo - open-air museum takes you back in time.

All of these options are great for kids! They love the Swedish Museum of Music inside the ABBA museum with an enclosed electric guitar room and the aquarium inside Skansen has fascinating collectios of poisonous frogs, naked mole rats and free roaming lemurs!

FIKA TIME! Flickorna Helin Skånska Gruvan is a charming café in a secluded and leafy setting with a large and very popular selection of baked Swedish goods. The castle-like building is located along the pedestrian path on Djurgården.

Best Summer Party is "Kräftskiva", Swedish crayfish party

The crayfish party, at which people gather to eat, drink and be merry, is a typically Swedish festivity marking the end of the summer.

A traditional crayfish party takes place only in August. All you need is some friends, a heap of freshly boiled crayfish, paper hats and decorations, some schnapps and a selection of silly drinking songs. Crayfish are cooked in brine, with plenty of crown dill.anna hållams-crayfish party-7465 (1)
