Hurtigruten Voyages along the Norwegian coast

These ships travel continuously from Bergen in the Southwest to Kirkenes on the Russian border. From the Midnight Sun of summer through the changing seasons that set the rhythm of life for the locals, you can experience the truly Norwegian way of life on a Norwegian Coastal Voyage. Hurtigruten visit ports, some of which are home to just a few hundred inhabitants, delivering freight, and of course, intrepid passengers to explore the coastal towns and surroundings.

Some of our packages include full voyages from Bergen to Kirkenes (7 days), Kirkenes to Bergen (6 days). We can also strongly recommend you to do shorter port-to-port voyages, allowing you to stop longer in the most scenic areas, and tailor this with other Norwegian travel experiences.

See our Hurtigruten Voyages here.

Fjord tours of Norway

Get close to some of Norway’s most beautiful fjord scenery - our tours can include the breathtaking experiences on the Bergen Railway, the Flåm Railway, the Aurlandsfjord, Sognefjord, the Nærøyfjord and the steep Stalheimskleiva road.

With pleasure, we combine the highlights of travelling in Norway into unique independent itineraries, getting you beyong the summer crowds. We offer a wide range of Norway in a Nutshell fjord tours - with winter and active versions of this program. We also have an upgraded version of the Norway in a Nutshell tour - called "Norway in a Nutshell Plus" with more inclusions and upgraded accommodation.

We also have a tour called 'Beautiful Norway', which runs weekly from May to September with fixed departures from Oslo every Saturday in 2022 and 2023. It is an independent visit to the mountains, fjords and valleys of Norway. You can enjoy staying at boutique hotels and touring around in our private 50DN minibus.

"It's the best of both worlds. It's touring without really being on a tour, so all the minor details are taken care of, allowing you the freedom to get on and enjoy the holiday."

Wander through the Vigeland Sculpture Park and explore the hidden gems of Norway’s capital, Oslo. Discover the Akershus Fortress and the many harbour side restaurants along Aker Brygge. Travelling on a private 50 Degrees North minibus, cross the mountains to visit the traditional Stave Church of Lom and the magnificent Luster and Sognefjord. Experience the valley of Gudbrandsdalen, surrounded by national parks, an abundance of locally produced food, old architecture, and good hiking trails.

We pride ourselves on knowing the local details that will benefit your holiday. This may include; a) knowledge on which areas of town have building works taking place which may affect your good nights sleep; b) knowledge of which cruise ship may be docking in small fjord villages when you happen to be there seeking peace and quiet; c) alternative transport options taking you away from the crowds.

Viking Culture, Midnight Sun & Sami Heritage in Norway

During the summer season above the Arctic Circle, the sun does not set for several months. Of course, after a dark winter, the flora, the fauna and the people of this region all go a little crazy in the sunshine with the huge 24-hour day energy burst. There is no need for energy drinks up here. The long summer days gives you plenty of opportunity to explore the culture of the North - Viking museums & Sami cultural activities.

You can sit on the North Cape and watch the sun dip tantalising close to the horizon, only for it to turn around and head back up again. It is quite incredible to watch. A great way to enjoy the Norwegian Midnight Sun is to board a Hurtigruten Ship along the Norwegian coast. Cruises that depart around the mid summer can get busy so plan your voyage early. Or if you prefer to self-drive and explore Norway in your own time, our 8-day Journey through Lapland would be our suggested Midnight Sun tour.
