50 Degrees North wins 'Norway's Leading Tour Operator' at the World Travel Awards for the fourth year running. “We are very pleased with this award following the challenging year for the travel and tourism industry”, said Tietse Stelma, 50 Degrees North’s Norwegian founder and CEO.

50 Degrees North has been named Norway’s Leading Tour Operator four years running at at the 31st World Travel Awards, one of the most recognized awards in the travel industry.

“We are very pleased with this award following a challenging years for the travel and tourism industry”, said Tietse Stelma, 50 Degrees North’s Norwegian founder and CEO. “I would like to thank all of those who have stood behind 50 Degrees North for their dedication and resilience - this award and recognition is for all of you.”

With the company headquarters in Norway and sales offices with passionate Nordic experts in Australia and North America, the company has come a long way in its 12 years of creating authentic and innovative travel experiences above the 50th parallel north.

One of the examples of 50 Degrees North's passion to allow travellers to explore the 'off the beaten track' regions of Norway, is their range of minivan small group tours. The tours have also been motivated by their sense of social responsibility: Introducing travellers to areas, hotels, and service providers outside of the more traditional and extremely busy routes not only tackles the problem of over tourism, but also distributes wealth to more modest local economies. Going forward into 2023, these minivan tours will be more important than ever to revive the small, local Norwegian tourism businesses. Demand for travel destinations that offer nature with plenty of space, security in the form of a safe, efficient health system and stable political situation as well as a destination that takes sustainability seriously will make Norway more attractive than ever for future travellers.

We are honoured and humbled by the global appreciation of our services, and the recent recognition of the World Travel Awards drives us towards setting even higher standards for the Norwegian travel industry at large.
