New Tour: Scenic Norway Hiking Tour
Join our new hiking tour visiting the Northwestern fjords of Norway, starting from Ålesund and finishing in Åndalsnes. With our private 50 Degrees North minivan, relax and enjoy the scenery as your driver navigates Norway's famous Scenic Routes. Be amazed by Norway’s most visited tourist road, Trollstigen Road with its eleven magnificent hairpin turns. Hike some of the best routes in this part of Norway - with the local guides and away from the crowds. One of the best recent trekking experiences for our Director, Tietse Stelma, was climbing the Romsdalseggen (the Romsdal Ridge), a trek included in this tour. Starting off with an early morning 30 minute bus transfer from Åndalsnes to Vengedalen, the starting point for the hike, the track then climbs steeply up onto the Romsdal ridge. Once up here, it is one of the most exciting and scenic hikes he had ever done. The track follows the ridge nearly all the way back to Åndalsnes with incredible 360 degree panorama vistas down to the fjords and mountains beyond. It is a 7 hour hike, and pretty adventurous, with lofty accents and traverses. On the way down you pass Rampestreken, which is an hour up the hill before reaching Åndalsnes again. Tietse is a very keen hiker, and has done a vast number of hikes in Norway over the years. The Romsdalseggen hike is one of the best he had ever done as a day hike - it is an exceptional hiking experience and is one of the HIGHLIGHTS on this new tour for 2022.
