Arrive at Evenes Airport and collect your rental car before making your way to Stokmarknes in the beautiful Vesterålen archipelago. Check in to your waterfront hotel surrounded by spectacular coastal scenery and views across the sea.
The remainder of the day is at leisure to settle in and enjoy your surroundings. Take a stroll along the harbour, visit the nearby Hurtigruten Museum, or simply relax and soak up the atmosphere of Northern Norway's Arctic coast beneath the Midnight Sun.
Today, experience one of Northern Norway's most iconic wildlife encounters with a whale-watching excursion from Andenes. Board the traditional vessel M/S Reine and cruise into the nutrient-rich waters off Vesterålen, home to an impressive variety of whale and dolphin species.
As you search for whale blows on the horizon, your expert guides will share insights into the region's unique marine ecosystem and the ongoing research that makes this one of Europe's premier whale-watching destinations. Keep watch for sperm whales, humpback whales, orcas, pilot whales and dolphins, while enjoying spectacular views of the Arctic coastline.
Your excursion also includes admission to the Whale Centre, where interactive exhibitions, fascinating research displays and complete whale skeletons provide a deeper understanding of the giants of the sea.
Today offers the opportunity to experience Vesterålen's spectacular nature in a way that suits your interests, with a choice of two excursions available.
Wildlife enthusiasts can join a Moose Safari, a guided vehicle-based excursion through the forests, valleys and coastal landscapes of Vesterålen in search of the region's largest land animal. Accompanied by knowledgeable local guides who know the area's moose population well, you'll learn about their behaviour and habitat while enjoying excellent opportunities for wildlife photography. During the summer months, you may even spot calves accompanying their mothers as they graze in the lush Arctic countryside.
Alternatively, adventurous travellers can take part in the 4 Summits Hike (available 1 May - 30 September, minimum age applies). Accompanied by an experienced mountain guide, you'll hike across four peaks above Stokmarknes, reaching the highest summit at 504 metres above sea level. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of fjords, islands, mountains and the Norwegian Sea, gaining a true appreciation for why Vesterålen is often referred to as the "Green Alps" of Northern Norway. The route follows established trails and includes a break at a mountain cabin to soak up the stunning scenery.
Today, continue your journey south into the stunning Lofoten Islands, following one of Norway's most scenic driving routes. Pass dramatic mountain peaks, picturesque fishing villages and beautiful coastal landscapes as you make your way to Skårungen, idyllically located on the waterfront near Kabelvåg.
Upon arrival, check in and settle into your accommodation before enjoying a relaxing evening surrounded by some of Lofoten's most spectacular scenery. Take a stroll along the shoreline, admire the mountain views, or simply unwind and soak up the peaceful atmosphere and long Arctic summer daylight.
Experience Lofoten from a unique perspective today on a guided sea kayaking excursion from Svolvær. Paddling in stable tandem kayaks, you'll glide through crystal-clear waters surrounded by dramatic mountain peaks, sheltered bays and picturesque coastal scenery. Suitable for beginners and experienced paddlers alike, the tour offers a memorable way to connect with Lofoten's nature while learning more about the region's history and culture from your guide.
After your adventure on the water, return to Skårungen and unwind with a private spa session, enjoying exclusive access to the sauna and hot tub. Relax while taking in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and sea, the perfect way to end a day in the Lofoten Islands.
This morning, set out on an exciting Sea Eagle Safari to Trollfjord, one of Lofoten's most spectacular natural attractions. Travelling by RIB boat from Svolvær, you'll cruise through the scenic waters of Raftsundet towards the narrow and dramatic Trollfjord, surrounded by towering mountain walls and breathtaking Arctic scenery.
Along the way, keep watch for the magnificent white-tailed sea eagle, Europe's largest bird of prey with a wingspan of up to 2.65 metres. Thanks to the area's large eagle population, sightings are common, offering fantastic opportunities for photography as the birds soar gracefully overhead. Throughout the journey, your guide will share stories about the region's wildlife, history and the legendary Trollfjord itself.
The remainder of the day is at leisure to further explore Lofoten or simply relax and enjoy the long summer evenings.
Enjoy a final morning in Lofoten before checking out and driving to Evenes Airport. The scenic journey takes approximately three hours, offering one last chance to admire the dramatic mountains, fjords and coastal landscapes that make Northern Norway so unforgettable.

Our 'Lofoten and Havila on the Norwegian Coast' tour comes from the heart. With pride, we offer independent itineraries exploring secret coastal gems.
Norway rewards walkers more generously than almost anywhere else in Europe. The landscapes that draw people here, the fjords, the mountain plateaus, the ancient valleys and the coastal cliffs, are best understood on foot, at the pace the terrain itself imposes. Here is what to know before you go.
