Who We Are

50 Degrees North is a leading Nordic tour operator and travel curator, specialising in boutique itineraries across Northern Europe. We are proudly B Corp certified.

Founded in 2010, we are headquartered in Øyer, Norway, with offices in Minneapolis, Vancouver and Melbourne. Our teams consist of Nordic natives and regional experts, and over the past 15+ years we have become a trusted name in high‑quality Nordic travel.

We design thoughtfully paced journeys that go beyond sightseeing, combining deep regional knowledge, reliable operations and carefully chosen experiences. Our clients typically sit within the boutique to luxury space and value quality, depth and seamless logistics.

We offer journeys across the wider Nordic and Baltic region, including:
Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Greenland, Faroe Islands, Svalbard, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

Our Tour Styles and Standards

We offer a range of product tiers to suit different clients and travel styles. Pricing is approximate and based on per‑person, per‑day rates on double occupancy.

BESPOKE / LUXURY
Our most immersive offering. Fully private, highly personalised journeys featuring architectural lodges, remote retreats, private guides, exclusive experiences and seamless logistics from start to finish.

PREMIUM
An elevated expression of Nordic travel, where thoughtful design and a higher level of comfort shape the experience. Includes distinctive 4–5‑star stays – from elegant heritage hotels to architecturally exceptional properties – paired with a curated mix of private and small‑group experiences and smooth, reliable logistics.

ORIGINAL
The heart of 50 Degrees North. Authentic, high‑quality Nordic journeys shaped by deep local knowledge and years of refinement. These itineraries blend iconic highlights with quieter, lesser‑known places, featuring character‑rich 3–4‑star accommodation and shared experiences rooted in local culture and landscape.

CLASSIC
Comfortable 3‑star journeys focused on experiencing the destination. Accommodation is selected for its location and convenience, complemented by shared activities and well‑planned logistics that enable easy exploration.

Minimum Package Guidelines

For custom packages, our minimum requirement is:

• 4 nights / 5 days
• Accommodation
• Transfers
• At least two activities

Shorter tours available on our website can be booked as listed.

Commission and Payment Terms

Commission
Our standard starting commission for travel advisors globally is 10%.
However, commission structures may vary by market, product type or consortia affiliation and can be discussed with your regional team where applicable.

Commission Payout
Commission is paid out after the traveller has departed (usually the next 15th of the month), once we have received full payment for the booking.

Details regarding payout methods and timing are provided at the time of booking and vary regionally.

In North America, commission can be paid in two ways:

• Gross, using the client’s credit card
• NET, using your own credit card or bank transfer

Payments
We accept a range of payment methods globally, including credit card and bank transfer.
In Australia and New Zealand, payments may also be processed via regional payment platforms.
Specific details are provided with each invoice.

Deposits and Balance Due
• A 20% non‑refundable deposit is required upon booking
• Higher deposits may apply for festive season travel or expedition products
• Final payment is due 70 days prior to travel, or earlier for certain departures such as December travel

Practical Information for Travel Advisors

Documents
Travel documents are typically issued 30 days before the first service. If documents are required earlier, please let us know as soon as possible and we will do our best to assist.

Flights
Internal regional flights may be included depending on the itinerary. This will be indicated under each trip’s Inclusions. If unsure, please check with us.

We do not offer wholesale international airfares; however, we are happy to advise on flight connections within our region.

Hotel‑Only Bookings
As a tour operator, we generally cannot provide hotel‑only bookings due to packaging agreements with our suppliers.

Custom Itineraries
Absolutely. Our teams are Nordic specialists with extensive regional expertise, enabling us to craft tailored itineraries and unique experiences upon request.

Design Fees
Where applicable, design fees will be shared at the quotation stage. Fee documents can be provided as required.

Terms & Conditions
Our online booking form and Terms & Conditions are located under the Booking section of our website’s main navigation, depending on your region.

Working With Your Clients
We will not contact your clients directly except in an emergency where immediate communication is required. You will always remain informed.

Printed brochures are currently available in Australia and New Zealand, with digital flipbook brochures available globally. See the option on our brochures page.

50 Degrees North Pty Ltd is full participant of the ATIA Travel Accreditation Scheme (ATIA) with ATIA Accreditation number; A10454. We are a Virtuoso preferred supplier and CATO Registered Operator TO1112. 50 Degrees North Nordic AS has, by law, issued a guarantee to the Travel Guarantee Fund (Reisegarantifondet or RGF), which protects you as the customer in the unlikely event that we should become insolvent.

50 Degrees North has successfully passed the stringent TFS Supplier Verification process, maintaining Verified Supplier status for consecutive years.

In order for a TFS Registered Supplier to receive a Verified Supplier badge, a member of the TFS verification team must conduct an independent review of its company information to include confirming legal ownership, office location(s), professional licensing, industry accolades and awards, commercial liability insurance and sustainability practices.

TFS also endeavours to evaluate a Verified Supplier’s risk of business failure and risk of insolvency by checking its payment history and financial statistics with leading credit bureaus and rating systems as available.
