Levi Glass Igloos
The glass-ceilinged 'Levin Iglut' igloos, also known as the Golden Crown Levi Igloos, sit on the fell slope at about 340 metres, on the edge of the wilderness with a view over the rugged fell landscape and the northern sky. We offer several ways to stay, along with tailor-made options.
How do you get to the Levi glass igloos?
Levi is about an hour's flight from Helsinki to Kittilä airport, then a 15-minute drive. Levin Iglut is in Finnish Lapland, north of the Arctic Circle, where winter lasts half the year and the Northern Lights are often visible on clear nights. Although the centre of Levi and its services are only about 10 km away, the igloo site itself is quiet and secluded, and inside it stays warm with everything within reach.
You can also reach Levi from other towns in Northern Finland and Northern Norway by private transfer or local bus, which makes it easy to combine an igloo stay with other Lapland experiences.
What are the Levi glass igloos like?
There are three types to choose from: Superior Glass Igloos, Prime Glass Igloos and Suite Igloos. The main difference between Superior and Prime is location: several of the Prime igloos sit on the mountainside with a view over the valley and the northern sky, and add extras such as a coffee machine, bathrobe and slippers and a welcome drink. The Suite Igloos are the most spacious, with an outdoor jacuzzi, a kitchen suitable for private dining, longer beds and sofa-bed options for children.
All the igloos have a small kitchen (with a mini bar, microwave, kettle and fridge), radio and Bluetooth, a hairdryer, and a double bed on a motorised frame that can be separated into two. And, of course, the view.

Dining at the Levi glass igloos
A highlight of a stay is the Aurora Sky restaurant, serving Scandinavian dishes in two settings: an upper floor with an open view of the sky, and a ground floor with the warm glow of a fireplace. The restaurant opens during the aurora season and is popular across the Levi area, so it's worth reserving a table in advance.

Practical tips for your stay
A few things worth knowing. You're sleeping under glass, so an eye mask helps once the sky lightens. Showering can fog the windows and hot water can be limited, so keep showers short, especially if the aurora looks likely. Luggage service is uncommon in remote Finland, though a sled can usually be arranged for a small fee. Reception hours are limited, so check details on arrival, and it's worth downloading an aurora app to alert you when the lights appear. If you'd like dinner, book ahead and confirm on arrival.
