The Magic of the Arctic
Imagine standing beneath a sky ablaze with ribbons of green and violet, the crisp Arctic air brushing your cheeks as silence wraps around you. This is the magic of the Northern Lights — and on our 11-day Chase the Northern Lights Express journey, you’ll experience far more than just a fleeting glimpse of this natural wonder. You’ll live it.

Day 1–3: Finnish Lapland – Glass Roofed Dreams
Your adventure begins in Ivalo, deep in Finnish Lapland. For three nights, you’ll stay in Aurora Cabins with glass roofs — a front-row seat to the aurora borealis from the warmth of your bed. Imagine sipping hot tea as the stars shimmer overhead, waiting for the first flicker of green light to dance across the horizon.
By day, the Arctic comes alive with activity:
- Meet the reindeer and learn Sámi traditions in a cozy Kota tent.
- Feel the thrill of a snowmobile safari across frozen landscapes.
- Experience the rush of a husky sledding adventure, gliding through snow-covered forests behind your own team of eager huskies.

Day 4: Sámi Heritage and Snowhotel Magic
Travel to Kirkenes, Norway, stopping in Inari for a guided visit to a Sámi cultural site. Here, you’ll gain insight into the rich heritage of the Arctic’s indigenous people before continuing to the Snowhotel, where you’ll spend the night in a charming Gamme Cabin. Rustic yet luxurious, these cabins offer warmth and comfort amid the snowy wilderness.
Dinner here is a celebration of local flavours — think fresh Arctic ingredients prepared with care. And if the skies are clear, step outside after your meal to watch the Northern Lights shimmer above the snow-covered landscape.

Day 5: The King of the Arctic
The next morning brings a highlight: the King Crab Safari. Venture onto the frozen fjords, help haul these prized crustaceans from beneath the ice, and then savour their sweet, delicate meat by a roaring log fire. It’s a culinary experience that’s as authentic as it is delicious.

Day 6–10: Norway’s Coastal Wonder
From Kirkenes, your adventure shifts to the sea as you board a Havila Voyages ship for a five-night cruise along Norway’s legendary coastline. These state-of-the-art vessels are powered by LNG and batteries, reducing emissions and noise — a testament to sustainable travel.
As you sail south, the scenery unfolds like a living postcard:
- The rugged beauty of Finnmark
- The dramatic peaks of the Lofoten Islands
- The serene waters of the Helgeland Coast
Optional excursions, like the Midnight Concert at Tromsø’s Arctic Cathedral, add moments of pure magic.

Day 10–11: Bergen – A Farewell to Remember
Your voyage ends in Bergen, Norway’s gateway to the fjords. Explore the historic Bryggen Wharf, a UNESCO World Heritage site, on a guided walking tour. In the evening, gather with your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner — a chance to toast new friendships and unforgettable memories.
