Santa Lapland Holidays 2024

Spend December in Lapland and learn about our pre-Christmas holidays with Santa visits and White winter adventures. Having spent the days up to Christmas in Lapland, we can also arrange capital city Christmas packages with traditional Christmas buffets, pamper packages and local experiences. There is still availability on these pre-Christmas tours for 2023.

Many of our Christmas holidays are very popular and we recommend speaking to us early about your travel plans. For 2023, there is now very limited availability due to the volume of families who have postponed their holidays.

Due to high demand, many of our Christmas tours fill very early for tours over the 24/25 December dates. We recommend booking now for Christmas 2024. We also have increased our range to include pre-Christmas departures running just before the busy Christmas period. These tours include a Santa visit which is still very exciting to the children as Santa can talk to them about what they are hoping to receive from him and his preparations for his imminent departure. Flights and activities are also easier to prepare at this stage. Having spent the days up to Christmas in Lapland, we can also arrange capital city Christmas packages with traditional Christmas buffets, pamper packages and local experiences.

Spending December and pre-Christmas in Finnish Lapland provides your family an opportunity to meet Santa at his hideaway, cross the Arctic Circle and send postcards from Santa’s post office. On tours to Lapland, your family can experience all the activities possible in snow: mini snowmobiles for kids, medium sized snow cross snowmobiles for older ones to enjoy more speed in a circuit, and 4 wheeled forest scooters for everyone to enjoy! Have family fun using kick sledges, a toboggan run, ice golfing, snowshoes, and ice carting to try out.

At 50 Degrees North, we specialise in Santa holidays that take you away from the crowds and provide your family unique and special experiences. Your children will meet Santa in his secret hideaway in the forest or you can even have Santa visit your hotel room or cabin, in very private family experiences. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so it is worth getting it right. Our Finnish tour specialists can also find your family places to stay and meet Santa if you have children with special needs.

To read and book on a pre-Christmas tours, read this summary of what can be arranged for your family. These tours include all the highlights of the region, meeting Santa and his reindeers without the crowds and stress. The only thing missing is the traditional Christmas buffet which we can include for you in one of the post-tour city stays.

After your pre-Christmas tour, most of the flights are coming back into Helsinki, Oslo and Stockholm. All of these cities are lovely spots to spend Christmas, with magnificent Christmas lights, markets, and of course, the traditional Christmas buffets.

Christmas across the Nordic Region is celebrated only from the late afternoon and evening of the 24 December until midday on the 25 December. Outdoor activities are plentiful on the morning of the 25 December such as tobogganing around the mountains of Oslo and ice skating in the heart of Helsinki and Stockholm. Local families all enjoy a sleep in and longer breakfast before heading outside to enjoy the time in nature.

Our hotels and apartments are all filled with Christmas cheer including Christmas trees, music, and celebratory hospitality. Traditional Christmas buffets for the evening of the 24 December can be booked at your hotel or in local restaurants such as Restaurant Savotta in central Helsinki. Afterwards, you can join Christmas Mass in one of the cities' Cathedrals.

Pamper packages are also available at many of our hotels with spas and treatments for the whole family. Alternatively, you can join the locals, such as spending their Christmas morning at the Löyly Sauna complex, with an ocean front location in Helsinki.
