If you don’t fancy the sub-zero temperatures associated with Northern Scandinavia in winter, consider an autumn tour. Enjoy the best of Finnish Lapland, staying in the lakeside retreat of Torassieppi, located 230kms north of the Arctic Circle. This local resort offers a great range of early Northern Lights activities as well as comfortable Scandinavian style accommodation.
Enjoy peaceful afternoons at the lake, discovering the nature around Torassieppi. You can pick as many berries and mushrooms as you can carry, the lake is full with tasty fish and the Jeris River is just a stone throw away.

Day 1 - Arrive and transfer to your hotel then campfire BBQ by the river for Northern Lights searching
From Kittilä airport it is only a 45 minute transfer to Torassieppi, where you will be welcomed by the hotel and receive information on the days to come. After settling in to your accommodation, you can enjoy your dinner in the restaurant. All food is prepared from local and organic ingredients.
After dinner you will be transformed into a real Northern Lights specialist (fingers crossed) by getting to know all the details of this beautiful phenomenon. When making pancakes on the campfire you'll find yourself on the perfect spot to admire the Northern Lights. Remember there is no snow at this time of year!
Day 2 - Hiking with Reindeer and Aurora Explorer
After breakfast you will get to know the reindeer and head out to the forest with the guide and admire all the colours that nature has to offer. You will also enjoy picnic lunch in the nature. After lunch you have the option to book extra activities. Dinner is served in the restaurant and after dinner hopefully the Northern Lights activity will be as high as yours, because tonight you will head out by minibus in search of the Northern Lights to the area with the best sightings. Overnight in cozy hotel room or cabin.
Day 3 - Foodie Experience - enjoy the surrounding nature and get to pick the ingredients for your lunch which will be cooked on open fire with our guide

During the day you have the option to book extra activities and have some time to relax, so why not do it like the Finns do and enjoy warm sauna. Dinner is served in the restaurant and overnight in cozy hotel room or cabin. You also have the option to stay in Aurora Dome.
Day 4 - Departure
After breakfast transfer to Kittilä airport.

The Aurora Dome is a luxury tent, which gives you a comfortable way to spend a night in the wilderness watching the northern lights in the comfort and warmth of a cozy bed and a fireplace. The see through side wall of the dome is directed towards the northern sky with a view over the Torasjärvi lake. The scenery to the untouched Lappish wilderness is breathtaking even on cloudy nights! Nearest facilities with sauna, toilet and shower are located in only 50m away.
