This morning, make your way to the domestic airport (transfer not included) where you'll board a 60 minute flight to the beautiful town of Akureyri.

Often referred to as the "capital" of the north, Akureyri is by far the largest town in the north of Iceland and it's the second largest urban area in Iceland with a population little less than 20,000. Located only 60 kilometres from the Arctic circle, the mountains in the area are often capped with snow year round, and in the winter they offer some of the best skiing in the country.

For the next two nights you'll be staying at the comfortable hotel right in the town's centre. There is the possibility to go on another Northern Lights tour this evening if desired.

Today you will be entering the other worldly landscapes of Lake Myvatn where the scenes for Games of Thrones "North of the Wall" were filmed. You will be picked up at your hotel at 8am and then have a full day of touring this area.

The Lake Mývatn area is by many considered the most beautiful and at the same time the most catastrophic place in Iceland. You will begin the day by stopping at Goðafoss Waterfall on our way to Lake Mývatn. Goðafoss is a picturesque waterfall in Skjálfandafljót River. The first stop by Lake Mývatn is at the pseudo-craters of Skútustaðagígar. From there we visit all the highlights of the area, such as Hverir Mud Pools, Grjótagjá Rift, Dimmuborgir Lava Fields and many more.

Our last stop by Lake Mývatn before our return to Akureyri is the Mývatn Nature Baths, where you can enjoy a relaxing soak in a Geothermal Pool. We stop for at least 1 hour at the Nature Baths.

You will stop along the way for lunch (not included) and we recommend bringing good walking shoes, bathing suit and towel (can be rented), water bottle and warm clothing in winter time.
