Day 2 - Day tour visiting the Golden Circle, highlights include the Geysir Hot Spring, Strokkur, Gullfoss Waterfall, and Þingvellir National Park
After breakfast, you will join a day tour to the Golden Circle region of Iceland where you can see the famous sites of Þingvellir National Park, Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir hot spring area. During the day, you will have an opportunity to walk among the bubbling hot springs that surround the famous Geysir and watch the Strokkur geyser, which spouts water sometimes up to 30m high, every 10 minutes!
Visiting Þingvellir National Park, home of Iceland’s ancient Viking parliament and listed as a UNESCO’s World Heritage site, will be our first stop. There we take a walk to experience firsthand the geological phenomenon that is the Mid-Atlantic ridge.
From Þingvellir we head east over Lyngdalsheiði. Following a mountain road with great views of the rugged lava fields, passing Laugarvatn lake, we arrive at Haukadalur, home of the great Geysir and the reliable Strokkur geyser that erupts with 3 to 7 minutes intervals. Next, the magnificent Gullfoss awaits us as it comes cascading down the white colored Hvítá river.
Return late in the afternoon. Lunch will be a stop enroute at a local cafe.

Important Information
Please note that the authorities of Reykjavik City have announced changes to the current arrangement for tour bus traffic in Reykjavik City Centre, effective from 15th of July, 2017. The area where buses are not allowed to drive has been increased in size, and locations, numbers and names of the designated bus stops have been changed.
This may affect the pick-up and drop-off locations for your activities and transfers. If you have airport transfers with FlyBus, you will need to carry your luggage (200 metres to 300 metres) to / from the bus stop to your hotel.
Lunch can be purchased along the way during the day trips or bring your own. Boots can also be hired if necessary.
The program is flexible and can be tailored to your preferences. The hiking is easy on these tours.
