The Arctic TreeHouse Hotel is situated in the forest within the Santa Park at Rovaniemi. With spectacular views over the treetops, the TreeHouse suites offer an exclusive combination of local tradition, Lappish heritage and modern Scandinavian design.
For the adventurous amongst us, you can combine exhilarating activities such as dog sledding and snowmobiling. For the romantics out there, hunting the dancing colours of the Northern Lights is one for the bucket list. For those with children, Santa and his many helpers are waiting to say 'hello', busy in any season.
Much is to be said however, for simply soaking up the stunning nature whilst enjoying the seclusion of your exquisite suite with a visit to a traditional Finnish sauna/spa complex.

Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrive Rovaniemi and transfer to the Arctic TreeHouse Hotel.
Arrive in Rovaniemi airport and transfer to Arctic Treehouse Hotel. If you arrive early, lunch is at the hotel’s restaurant.
Freshen up in your room and start exploring the forests & small town of Rovaniemi.

Day 2 - Reindeer farm visit with short sleigh ride
After breakfast at the hotel you have a free morning to do optional activities or if you would prefer to stay at the hotel, you are more than welcome.
This afternoon, participate in a reindeer safari! Sit comfortably in a sleigh and lie back, take photos of the nature around you and listen to the sounds of the reindeer caravan. A reindeer herder will prepare your coffee with a cinnamon bun on the campfire and share his story of life with the reindeer.
You can also add a Northern Lights tour to this evening. Ask us for options.

Day 3 - Snowmobile riding through the forest
In the early afternoon, go for a snowmobile adventure (2.5 hr) that offers fantastic opportunity to learn how to master the art of driving a snowmobile. During the safari we stop for a break to enjoy hot drinks and the silence of the wilderness.

Day 4 - Husky Safari in the Lappish Forest
After breakfast, head out on an exciting dogsledding safari.
Get away from the city and enjoy the magical forests of the Lappish wilderness! Enjoy the magnificent views of the Lappish forests and hills, while driving your dog team. Friendly barks of the huskies welcome you to the local farm but as soon as the safari of dogs departs from the farm, the dogs quiet down and start to work. Enjoy the surrounding nature and the sledge ride in silence. Stop for a break in the wilderness and take photos. We drive two persons per team, but there is a possibility to change the driver along the way. The average length of the trail is 10 km, but the weather conditions and the skills of the participants may affect the length of the ride.
Afternoon is yours to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the hotel.
Dinner is at the restaurant and, afterwards, if the skies are clear, look out for the magical Northern Lights.

Important Information
Tours can change depending on the snow and weather conditions. The hotel is positioned on a hill so you may have an uphill walk to your cabins.
Please note that the TreeHouse Hotel is six minutes from central Rovaniemi and close to the main road.

Practical Information for travelling and packing for Scandinavian Winter
Recommended Scandinavian Winter Tour Packing List:
- Warm wind and water proof jacket and trousers large enough to fit thick woollen jumper/clothing underneath
- Rain trousers – waterproof and breathable material
- Warm windproof cap/hat
- Warm gloves or mittens. Mittens where all fingers except the thumb are together are often warmer than gloves.
- Windproof gloves or mittens, which you can pull over the warm gloves
- Warm scarf
- 2 pairs of long woollen underwear (Merino wool in a few different thicknesses is perfect)
- 1-2 warm woollen jumper(s), or one jumper and a warm fleece
- Woollen or fleece trousers
- 2-3 pairs of warm woollen socks
- Warm & sturdy footwear with good grip
- Clothes for indoors, i.e. a shirt, T-shirts and jeans or cotton trousers
- Back pack for day trips (approx. 30 litre)
