Lonely Planet Photogapher, David Evans will join 50 Degrees North for this exclusively escorted photography voyage & tour of Norway’s Lofoten Archipelago & North Cape under the midnight sun. One of our Scandinavian staff will host this journey, taking care of all services throughout the tour program and providing insight into the local culture and history. In addition, David will be providing photography tuition and support.
This is a unique and very special itinerary, photographing and experiencing the rich culture and landscape of the far north of Norway. This 12-day tour departs 26 May 2018 and is limited to 10 participants. It is a guaranteed departure.
David is an experienced and awarded Lonely Planet photographer who will guide you through many aspects of travel and landscape photography, covering topics such as;
Our activities and excursions are tailored towards seeing and capturing the best light and most photogenic locations. Tuition is mostly hands on, with much of our time spent outdoors with our cameras.
The tour is suitable for photographers of all abilities, and also suitable for non-photographers. All locations and activities are spectacular regardless of your interest in photography.
Day 1: Arrive Oslo; meet your escort & group for the welcome dinner
Day 2: Oslo - explore the back streets and then fjord cruise on tall ship S/S Vega
Day 3: Fly to Leknes, gateway to the Lofoten Islands.
Day 4 : Photograph the beauty & majestic scenery around Reine
Day 5: Transfer to Svolvær via local fishing villages, sandy beaches and clear green water
Day 6 & 7: Svolvær Trolljord RIB Safari and Sea Eagles
Day 8: Join the Hurtigruten ferry boat in the evening
Day 9: Arrive into Tromsø and do private guided photography tour with Guide Gunnar in the afternoon
Day 10: Honningsvåg and the North Cape
Day 11: Arrive Kirkenes in time for an Arctic King Crab Safari
Day 12: Depart Kirkenes and return to Oslo
