50 Degrees North exclusive Arctic Light & Hurtigruten escorted tour is on again in 2018! How better to understand the tour than with some real tour images? Here is a selection of holiday snaps from the 2017 tour. One of our Scandinavian staff members, Anna, escorted this journey, taking care of all services throughout the tour program and made sure the days went smooth for the travelers. Thanks Anna and André Henrion for these wonderful photos. The group had a great time and next year's tour will no doubt be bigger and better then ever!
Oslo exploration with knowledgeable guide
Guided tour of the Viking Museum
Stave church in the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History
Enjoy the view from the lovely Clarion Admiral hotel with harbour views, dine together in seafood restaurants and have a guided tour of the Bergen back streets.
A winter expedition along the coast of Norway is a beautiful experience. The landscape is covered in pure white snow; the air is fresh, pure and crisp. Clusters of cosy houses glow on the shores like embers and the stunning backdrop of snow-clad mountains reflects the polar twilight. Enjoy the views from your arctic superior cabins or the common areas with their panoramic windows. Choose between adding on excursions organised by the cruise or join your escort for daily visits to the main attractions of each stop along the way.
Hurtigruten Voyage Highlights:
On Day 10, you will join a guided King Crab Safari and eat more crab than you would ever have imagined. With warm outer gear on, help with hauling in and counting the crab as they come up out of the ice.
In the last section of your holiday, you will enjoy many of the fun winter activities offered in this region. Head out on a reindeer safari where you will visit a traditional Sami Village and enjoy a reindeer sleigh ride.
Join an exciting snowmobile safari. You will be kitted out in warm clothing before leaving. Two persons share one snowmobile and there will be an opportunity to change drivers during the safari. Meet Santa in his home and have a breathtaking journey through the winter landscape during your husky safari.
One of the last highlights is a stay in a glass igloo. The Northern Lights were not shy this year for our group and with 9 days in the Aurora Zone high above the Arctic Circle, we plan this trip around maximising your chances of seeing the lights! Fingers crossed, the group in 2018 will be lucky again!
