Our range of Lapland Christmas Holidays is getting bigger and better for 2024. Here is a snapshot of what we have available to book or waitlist now for 2024. Many of our holidays include private cabins and apartments for your family to stay in. We have also booked some lodges exclusively for 50 Degrees North travellers only.
Why book our Christmas packages:
- Many of our Christmas programs are escorted by our own Scandinavian staff and include private, authentic Santa visits.
- Our Norwegian office works over this period to ensure that your holiday is trouble free.
- Our Christmas holidays do book out early so please don't hesitate to contact us for a quote.
- Many of our Christmas tours are priced per group - i.e. triple or quad share for families reserving their own log cabin. Send us your details and we can work out the best price and configuration for your accommodation.
- All our tours, unless mentioned, are situated above or close to the Arctic Circle, allowing you the chance to see the Northern Lights.
- Several of our tours are close to ski fields such as Levi and Saariselkä. We can arrange for you to extend your stay to include some time down hill skiing or snowboarding.

Why Lapland for Christmas?
Meet Santa
Finnish Lapland has pretty much all the ingredients for every child’s Christmas wish list. Snow? Tick. Elves? Tick. Rudolph? Tick. But, let’s face it, the must-do is a meet ‘n’ greet with the man in red. Sitting down with Santa in his own private cottage and getting their gifts hand delivered tops the list of family holiday experiences.
Mush huskies
Decades ago, the indigenous Sami people used huskies to haul their goods across the snowy landscapes. Now, these friendly dogs can take you on a fast-paced safari through the white snow forests. Children are mesmerised by the sounds at the husky camp, and after the safari, sit around a campfire to learn more about these hard-working Arctic dog.
Meet Rudolph the reindeer
All the family will be interested to hear about Reindeer farming on a visit to the local Sami farms. You can feed them and hug them before going on short rides on sleighs. Many of our villages have reindeers roaming free around the shopping centres and as you drive along the snow roads, you can watch them feed along the road.
Magical snowy landscape
The Lapland villages and countryside with their colourful houses and perfect gardens, magical lights and decorated Christmas trees are just like the story books. The beauty of Lapland takes you by surprise and spirits you into the Christmas story books of your childhood.

Santa in Lapland - Levi, Finland
Need to know: tour suitable for all ages with downhill skiing and winter activities to keep everyone busy. Plenty of fine-dining restaurants to impress the parents with kid-friendly food as well. Stay in your own family private log cabin. Private Santa experience included.
Christmas at Arctic TreeHouse Hotel
Need to know: tour suitable for all ages, private cabins with panoramic windows and nests for children. Stay close to Rovaniemi.
Lapland Christmas Magic & Lapland Winter Magic
Need to know: best seller, tour suitable for all ages, good tour for families with kids, privately escorted by 50 Degrees North staff, private Santa visits in his forest log cabin, before and during Christmas dates available. All-inclusive program in a small Finnish village. Close to Levi ski fields.
Christmas Adventure in Ruka, Finland - escorted tour
Need to know: New Tour with private Santa visit. Staying in Ruka, north of Kuusamo. Highlights include a visit to an authentic Reindeer Farm, a magical husky ride through the forests, a tour in the evening in an AURORA wagon and a drink at the ICE Bar each evening to unwind.

Christmas in Levi Glass Igloos
Spend Christmas 2024 in Northern Finland. Known for their seclusion, mountain views and aurora skies, the Levi Glass Igloos are the perfect spot for a White Christmas.
These well-appointed glass igloos are complete with private kitchenettes, showers, and toilets. Dinner is a Lappish affair and is served daily in the glass-roofed restaurant. Christmas Eve will be a special 4-course traditional Finnish Christmas dinner.
Fill your days with winter activities - dogsledding, snowmobiling and a reindeer safari plus a special Santa program. In addition, not too far away is the bustling ski resort of Levi for winter shopping, evening skiing and further activities.

Christmas at Sunday Morning Resort
We have booked the whole lodge for our Exclusive Family Christmas Tour with Sustainable Focus.
Located 100 km above the Arctic Circle in the fell scenery of one of Finland’s oldest national parks, Pyhä-Luosto National Park, Sunday Morning Resort is a retreat offering access to unbelievable Arctic experiences and Northern Lights opportunities. Despite being just 90 minutes from Rovaniemi, the capital of Finnish Lapland and also the nearest airport, the resort is located away from light pollution on the shores of Lake Pyhä – making it the perfect place for hunting the Aurora Borealis.
