Dogsled Expedition to Ship in the Ice
From the first of March until mid May, the schooner s/v Noorderlicht lies frozen into the beautiful Tempel fjorden waiting for todays’ adventurers! We offer a special program where you can experience how to mush your own dog team of Alaskan Huskies travelling from Longyearbyen to our comfortable Basecamp ship in the ice.
In its 100 years of history it has been well taken care of and is still very prominent and comfortable. You spend two nights in one of the 10 two bed cabins, and there are good onboard facilities. During your stay we serve a 3 course dinner in the evenings, as well as breakfast. Lunch will be enjoyed in the field. There is a licensed bar on board open until midnight.
